MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION SIGNED BETWEEN THE OMBUDSMAN AND THE ASSOCIATION OF JOURNALISTS

The Ombudsman, Mr. Ixhet Memeti and the President of the Association of Journalists, Mladen Chadikovski signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at raising the level of protection of journalists 'rights, increasing the quality of citizens' information, as well as cooperation on projects aimed at promoting the rights of the citizens.

"Formalizing the cooperation between the Ombudsman Institution and the Association of Journalists will contribute to more effective protection of the rights of media workers, primarily in terms of freedom of speech, but also in terms of obtaining timely information. This will increase the quality of the transmission of these, which is also significant for the citizens who have the right to be timely and accurately informed, "said the Ombudsman Mr. Ixhet Memeti after the signing of the memorandum,. According to the president of the "Association of Journalists" Mr. Mladen Chadikovski, the cooperation with the Ombudsman in the past period was on a high level, but with its officialization it will be strengthened.

"With today's signing we show that exercising the rights of journalists is not only important for them, but for the entire public. Freedom of speech, reporting without censorship will improve the quality of our work, which will also affect the protection of the rights of citizens, said the president of the Association of Journalists, Mr. Mladen Cadikovski.
